4 Week Project, 2017

Is New York City Still a Sanctuary for Refugees? This project explores whether NYC’s identity as a sanctuary city still holds true for refugees today. Through an interactive guessing game, participants complete a line graph using data from the U.S. State Department’s Refugee Processing Center, revealed via augmented reality (AR). Developed as part of a Data Visualization exhibition at Parsons School of Design, this project invites reflection on the evolving role of sanctuary cities in supporting refugees.
